The European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope located at the Paranal Observatory in Chile's Atacama Desert captured this view of the nebula LHA 120-N 44 surrounding the star cluster NGC 1929 within the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our own Milky Way. This region of star formation features the colossal superbubble of material shown above thats expanding outwards carved by the winds of newborn stars and the shockwaves from violent stellar explosions, according to astronomers.
