In addition, this international foundation will promote community development and train guides, artisans and workers responsible for the conservation of the site.

This initiative will be developed thanks to the GHF senior advisory board which approved to support the Executive Unit 007 Marcahuamachuco on a new conservation project of this site.

For the elaboration of this project, the GHF’s experts worked closely with the Executive Unit 007 and its equipment of professionals, with which will carry out joint activities. This initiative was presented to Culture Minister, Juan Ossio, who encouraged GHF to support the conservation activities.

Thus, Marcahuamachuco turns into the second project of GHF in Peru, as well as Chavin de Huantar archaeological site, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
