Get Involved on Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!
April 22, is the 41st anniversary of this holiday, which galvanized a global conservation movement — and helped everyone understand that people need nature to thrive.
Here’s a list of five actions you can take this Earth Day — some big, some small — to ensure that everyone, everywhere, has access to the gifts that nature provides:
  1. Join CI’s Wild for Water campaign, helping people understand that to protect the fresh water that we all use every day, we must protect the entirety of freshwater ecosystems. Tell us about a river near you, submit a freshwater video to our YouTube channel, or just learn more about why protecting freshwater ecosystems is so important!
  2. Deepak Chopra and Ian Somerhalder aren’t just amazing talents. They’re also friends of CI who are deeply committed to nature, and they have joined together to help protect forests around the world. Join them in supporting CI’s Lost There, Felt Here campaign.
  3. Flying on United or Continental Airlines on Earth Day? Use Mobile Boarding on Friday, April 22, and United will contribute up to $2 to help “Protect an Acre” with Conservation International. Learn more.
  4.  Get to know more about African Cats, the newest in Disneynature’s series of films celebrating the environment and the wildlife that inhabit it. African Cats captures the real-life love, humor and determination of the kings of the savanna. Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, African Cats leaps into theaters across the U.S. on Earth Day.
  5. You can also directly support the work that CI does around the world, every single day.
Thanks so much for your support, friends, and Happy Earth Day!
